Why You Still Smell After a Shower
Let’s cut to the chase: if you find yourself smelling two hours after a shower, your deodorant isn’t the only thing to blame.
Underarm odor doesn’t just appear, it builds. And most people are unintentionally making two major mistakes that make things worse.
Root Problem #1: Lingering Bacteria & Build-Up
Odor-causing bacteria from the day before doesn’t magically disappear overnight. Deodorant, sweat, and bacteria stick to the skin, sometimes even after you think you have washed your underarms properly.
Root Problem #2: Layering Deodorant on Top of It
Most people apply deodorant in the morning without properly cleaning their underarms. All that does is trap old bacteria under a new layer of product. The result? It might smell good at first… but within hours, the odor breaks through.
The Solution: A Clean Slate, Every Morning
To effectively control odor all day long, you need to reset the skin in the underarm and by doing this you need to heavily scrub each underarm for 20 seconds. If you are using a tutti fruiti soap that does not offer some naturally antibacterial properties this means that the bacteria can still linger try something with natural antibacterial properties for your smelly zones like salt, apple cider vinegar. That means starting your morning with an underarm bar specifically designed to:
-
Eliminate lingering bacteria
-
Break down deodorant residue
-
Prep the skin for better product absorption
Once the underarm area is clean and balanced, and dry you can apply a deodorant.
Think of it as a two-step routine:
Cleanse the bacteria from yesterday.
Control the odor for today.
That’s how you actually manage underarm odor, long-term.
