• Reduce chafing and friction in affected area, including chafing from tight, non-breathable clothing materials 

Kojic acid is a a naturally occuring chemical produced from different types of fungi and is a byproduct of fermented foods such as Japanese sake (rice wine). 

What it does: 

• Prevents dark spot formation and brightens skin that has been affected by post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation 
• Anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties may help prevent certain skin conditions 
• Antioxidant protection from free radicals caused by UV damage and pollution 
• Has anti-inflammatory properties  

Our kojic acid brightening bar uses kojic acid dipalmitate. 

Kojic dipalmitate is a derivative of kojic acid. It is considered to be the more superior form of kojic acid as it is more stable and is recommended by dermatologists for sensitive and skin of color. 

Kojic acid is a tyrosine inhibitor. It blocks tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for developing melanin, thus preventing the overproduction of melanin, giving the skin a brightening effect. 

Our kojic acid brightening bar works to prevent the overproduction of melanin and gradually minimizes dark spot pigmentation. 

Studies have found kojic acid to be both safe and effective at formulations less than 1%. Both the FDA and Health Canada regulate kojic acid within this limit.  

It is considered much safer and a better option for treating dark spots compared to aggressive and toxic ingredients such as hydroquinone 

The kojic acid brightening bar is formulated within this limit and is dermatologist tested and non-irritating. 

The kojic acid brightening bar can be safely used on dark spot pigmentation found on the:​ 

• Underarms*​ 
• Dark elbows & Knees​ 
• Dark Inner Thighs​ 
• Buttocks 
• Hands (to address age/liver spots) 

 
It can also be used on dark spots and blemish marks left behind from:​ 

• Ingrown Hairs​

• Insect Bites​

• Moisten the bar and apply the lather to affected areas with a soft and gentle cloth or silicone exfoliating brush (fingers can be used if exfoliating has occurred more than twice a week). 
• Massage for 30 seconds to allow the actives to penetrate the area before rinsing off. 

If you are treating pigmentation on the underarms, follow with the niacinamide brightening deodorant for faster results.
